Leave car park over stone bridge crossing the forth at west end the turn right up the hill in Kirkton towards Lachan Spling. Follow the rights and lefts on the map carefully and cross-check junctions so you know where you are on the map. After the long decent off Garbeg Hill go left the right and cycle into cleared ground. Cross a concrete bridge then you have the option of going straight through Balleich back to Aberfoyle (8km) or turn back on yourself after the bridge and do some more wandering. Straight over the crossroads when you come to it then left down a gravel track and you cross the forth again, this time over a lovely wooden bridge.
Join National Cycle Route 7 and bowl back into Aberfoyle on the (flat) old railway line (11km)
